TDS seeks hat and mitten donations
TDS hosting drive benefiting the Family Crisis Center
TDS, on behalf of the Family Crisis Center, is hosting a drive to collect new winter hats and mittens from November 4 until November 9 . Donations are welcomed Monday through Friday 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the TDS retail location at 3296 Church Street.
“A key part of TDS’ mission is to give back to the communities we serve,” says Ashley Heil, associate manager of Field Marketing at TDS. “No one should be cold in the winter because they do no have or cannot afford winter clothing. We invite residents to join us in helping our neighbors stay safe and warm in the months ahead.”
In addition to being the collection point for donations, TDS will match every qualifying item to double the impact. All items will go to the Family Crisis Center for distribution to help those in need.
In their continuing efforts to support the community, TDS also recently gave a $500 direct donation to CAP Services’ Family Crisis Center to fund other needed programs. CAP Services, headquartered in Stevens Point, is a private, nonprofit corporation dedicated to transforming people and communities to advance social and economic justice.
TDS is partnering with the city of Stevens Point to build a fiber-optic network for residents within the city limits. Announced in January, the first areas are expected to be available to customers next year.
