TDS opens retail location and launches services to first community in Fox Cities, Wisconsin

Up to 2Gig speeds available for the first time to nearly 1,000 addresses in Kimberly

TDS Telecom (TDS®) has reached two major milestones on its Fox Cities fiber-to-the-home network build: the company is celebrating the opening of a retail location and launching service, including up to 2Gig (2,000Mbps) internet, to the first addresses in the Fox Cities. TDS service will now be available to nearly 1,000 homes and businesses in Kimberly with many more to come. The new storefront, located at 1490 Oneida Street in Menasha, gives residents the chance to try TDS® TV+, the company’s TV offering, explore product bundles, and register for service.

The launch of the fiber network and up to 2Gig symmetrical internet, meaning download and upload speeds are identical, is the first of dozens of Wisconsin communities where TDS plans to offer the top speed.

“Simply put, TDS fiber internet, regardless of what speed you choose, delivers a better online experience,” says Andrew Petersen, vice president of Corporate Affairs at TDS. “The technology offers the bandwidth and the reliability residents need for their homes and business today and the future.”

TDS is offering a range of symmetrical speeds, as well as TDS TV+ and phone to residents. Businesses can order 10Gig dedicated fiber connections, TDS TV+, and TDS’ hosted VoIP business phone solution, managedIP

Due rising covid numbers, TDS has postponed the ribbon cutting at its retail store but invites residents to stop in the week September 13-18 to register to win a Sony soundbar valued at $900.

TDS announced its Fox Cities project, which includes the Wisconsin communities of Appleton, Little Chute, Kaukauna, Kimberly, Menasha, and Neenah, in February. The build is expected to be complete in 2023 and reach approximately 60,000 addresses. With the first launch complete, services will continue to roll out in phases as the build progresses.
