TDS Telecom now hiring field services interns in Dane County, Wisconsin
Interns, age 16+, to receive on-the-job training, learn telecommunications trade
TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) is expanding its unique internship program for individuals over 16 years old. The Field Service Technician (FST) Internship Program is a paid internship that gives people the chance to work with cutting edge, fiber-to-the-home technology and learn about career opportunities in the telecommunications industry.
The FST program matches interns with mentors who provide them with valuable on-the-job experiences. Interns assist with on-site installation, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance activities of telecommunications products, services, and equipment provided to TDS customers. They ultimately gain a valuable understanding of the importance of customer service.
“This internship is a great opportunity to learn about our growing industry and get a taste of a fulfilling position at a leading-edge technology company,” said Kit Beyer, director of External Affairs and Communications.
TDS kicked off the FST Internship Program last summer with a dozen interns in four states. The first-time effort was extremely successful, with many interns either continuing with the company or expressing interest in doing so. TDS hopes to provide at least 40 internship positions during the spring or summer months nationwide. The first opportunities are being offered in Dane County, Wisconsin.
