TDS launching its all-fiber network in Quincy, Florida

Company marking milestone with $2K of support for local nonprofits

TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) will soon light up its fiber network in Quincy, bringing super-fast internet of up to 8Gig for residents and up to 10Gig dedicated connections for businesses. The all-fiber network, expected to be available to the first customers as soon as next week. In celebration of the data infrastructure project, TDS will be presenting $1,000 to two area nonprofit organizations, the Gadsden Art Museum, and Quincy Main Street, at the Gadsden County Birthday Party happening on Saturday, June 24 at 10 a.m. at the Historic Gadsden County Courthouse in Quincy.

“We’ve been part of Quincy for 40 years and we’re proud to make this latest technology investment in the community,” says Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs Drew Petersen. “Fiber delivers the reliable, high-speed connections consumers want today, and creates a solid foundation for Quincy’s future.”

TDS contractors have been burying conduit and fiber cable in public utility easement areas and hanging cable on utility poles since late last year. The network is becoming available gradually as sections of the network are completed.

To mark the project’s milestone, TDS representatives will be giving funds to two local nonprofits as part of Gadsden’s bicentennial celebration. The company is presenting $1,000 to Gadsden Art Museum to sponsor their Art @ Home Kits for children. TDS is also donating $1,000 to Quincy Main Street in support of its mission to revitalize Quincy’s historic downtown district.

The company’s infrastructure investment in Quincy will bring world-class symmetrical internet for both residents and businesses. Phone services, including TDS’ VoIP service for commercial customers, will also be available. The super-fast speeds easily support video conferencing applications for remote work, online schooling, and telehealth appointments, as well as today’s wide variety of entertainment options.

Beyond the company’s standard range of fiber speed options, TDS also offers a low-cost product for qualifying Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) participants. TDS Connect includes 200Mbps/200Mbps speeds at a price that is fully covered by the monthly ACP benefit.

“An estimated 40% of households in America qualify to receive the ACP benefit to help keep people connected to the internet,” says Petersen. “We encourage Quincy residents to see if they qualify.”

Residents can visit TDSFiber.com or call 1-888-225-5837 for more information about the new internet speeds.
