TDS gives $10K to aid Kentucky flood victims and recovery efforts
TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) is donating $10,000 to the Buckhorn Children & Family Services organization to support victims of the recent flash flooding in Kentucky.
“We have seen the destruction firsthand, and this donation is our way of helping our fellow Kentuckians,” says Bruce Mottern, TDS State Government Affairs Manager. “Buckhorn Children & Family Services has, as it has for years, opened its doors to aid those in need and we are proud to help support the organization’s efforts.”
Storms moved through Kentucky the last week of July dropping record rainfall and causing widespread flash flooding. Buildings, homes, and other infrastructure were damaged or washed away. Buckhorn Children & Family Services has become a central point for flood aid in the community providing housing, water, food, medicine, and other needed assistance
“All of us at TDS extend our thoughts to the families and businesses who are impacted—especially those who lost loved ones as a result of these storms,” said Mottern.
TDS reported losing equipment hubs, as well as telephone poles and transmission lines. The company is warning customers that service outages in both Ary and Wolf Coal could be significant as they work to rebuild.
