TDS fiber expansion project to deliver 1Gig internet in New Glarus, Wis. now complete

More than 1,000 area addresses gain super-fast connections

The TDS Telecom (TDS®) project to expand their fiber network to reach more New Glarus residents is now complete. The work, in progress since late last year, now connects more than 1,000 additional residential and business addresses with up to 1Gig internet, TV, and phone service.

“We’ve been a proud part of the New Glarus community for more than 50 years, and this latest investment demonstrates our commitment to delivering top-of-the-line services to the area,” says Julie Maiers, vice president of Marketing and Product Development at TDS. “The pandemic has only reinforced the need for reliable, fast internet, which fiber connections offer in spades.”

The network upgrade required laying more than 16 miles of fiber and upgrading equipment cabinets in the community. The result brings 1Gig internet speeds, along with TDS’ TV product, TDS TV®+, a cloud-based TV service that combines live TV—broadcast channels, regional sports content, and national cable channels—with streaming services like Netflix*.

Business customers in the build footprint can choose internet access and transport connections up to 10Gig via dedicated fiber and TDS managedIP, a hosted Voice over IP (VoIP) communications solution. TDS TV® is also available to business customers in the fiber footprint.

New Glarus residents can visit tdstelecom.com or call 1-888-225-5837 for more information.
