TDS doubling its fiber footprint in Elkhorn, Wis.

1Gig internet available Spring 2021 to residents in the first expansion area

Today TDS Telecom (TDS®) announces it is bringing 1 gigabit (1Gig) internet, TV, and phone service to about 3,400 more area addresses as part of a larger fiber-optic network expansion project in Elkhorn. When the expansion build is complete, TDS will have more than doubled the size of its fiber-to-the-home network in the community. Services will become available in Spring 2021 and will continue in phases, eventually reaching the additional Elkhorn business and residential addresses by the end of that year.

TDS’ expansion in Elkhorn also increases the availability of TDS’ new TV service, TDS TV®+. The product, launched this year, is cloud-based and combines live TV—broadcast regional sports content, and national cable channels—with streaming services like Netflix*.

“Customers will enjoy all of the features TDS TV+ offers, such as the smart recommendations and the voice-activated remote,” says Maiers. “The service also lets you catch up on shows you may have missed—even three days ago—by using the Start Over option, and you can watch on the go using TV Everywhere.”

Business customers can choose internet access and transport connections up to 10Gig via dedicated fiber and TDS managedIP, a hosted Voice over IP (VoIP) communications solution. TDS TV® is also available to business customers in the fiber footprint.

Elkhorn residents should visit TDSFiber.com to register for bonus offers, order service and see if their address will be included in the fiber build. Registered customers get priority installation when services launch in the areas and will be contacted to schedule their installations first.

TDS first launched fiber services in Elkhorn in 2014, making it one of the first communities in the state with fiber technology.
