TDS donates $2K to Second Harvest Food Pantry

TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®), one of the first fiber-optic services providers in the Knoxville, Tenn. area is making its latest investment by supporting the Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee. A group of company associates presented a check for $2,000 after volunteering at the non-profit on February 16.

“Although they may seem different, both food and internet are both essential services in today’s world,” says Regional Manager of Field Marketing Tyler Hunsaker. “We’re proud to deliver high-quality data connections and delighted to support Second Harvest’s mission to provide food for those facing hunger.”

Every dollar donated to Second Harvest equals four meals which means the company’s $2,000 donation will provide 8,000 meals to children, families, and seniors in Middle and East Tennessee. The donation is an extension of one of TDS’ shared values.

“We encourage our associates to give back in the communities we serve,” says Hunsaker. “Some of us have been volunteering at Second Harvest so this donation is just another way we can help an organization doing great things to help our neighbors.”

TDS offers fiber internet service in nearly 100% of the Concord, Farragut and Halls areas. The company first brought this high-speed infrastructure in the state, launching 1 Gig service as early as 2014. Beyond the low-cost internet product called TDS Connect, TDS offers a range of other speed options including 1 Gig service at a price of $59.99/mo. for life. TV and phone service bundles are also available.

TDS has been serving customers in Tennessee since 1975. For more information about TDS services visit tdstelecom.com or call 1-888-225-5837.
