TDS donates $2,500 to Feed My People Food Bank in Eau Claire, Wisconsin
Donation will have $5K impact thanks to special matching campaign
TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) presented a check for $2,500 to Feed My People Food Bank in Eau Claire at the ribbon cutting of the facility’s new 3,500 sq. ft. addition. The donation will support the organization’s new Project FEED the Love campaign. Project FEED is the bank’s new youth hunger initiative, aiming to boost existing programs and resources for children and teens, including school pantries, backpack food resources, and other special distributions. Until February 17, there is a matching campaign in place for all donations, doubling the impact of TDS’ donation.
“Because the Otto Bremer Trust is matching gifts for this short window, it was the perfect opportunity for us to give,” says TDS Associate Manager of Field Marketing Marcus Stabe. “We hope others will join us in contributing what they can in support of an organization that does so much across Northwestern Wisconsin.”
This is not the first charitable gift from TDS in the Chippewa Valley. Last July, the company gave $5,000 to the Family Support Center in Chippewa Falls, and in November gave $1,000 to the Eau Claire Police Department K9 Fund.
“TDS has a long history of investing in the communities we serve, not just by building reliable networks, but also by giving back,” says Stabe. “When I volunteered at the food bank in November, I saw firsthand what great work they do and was thrilled to help coordinate this donation.”
TDS broke ground on its fiber-optic network project in Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls last year and began connecting customers in December. The city of Altoona recently approved a Memorandum of Understanding with TDS, supporting the company’s expansion plans in that community.
TDS, a 54-year-old company, has become a leader in fiber deployment across the country and is headquartered in Madison. For more information about TDS’ fiber service, visit TDSfiber.com. To donate to the Feed My People Food Bank, visit fmpfoodbank.org.
