TDS begins customer installations in Tomah, Wisconsin
TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) is connecting the first customers to its Tomah fiber network. The high-speed data infrastructure is bringing symmetrical internet speeds of up to 8Gig to residents, and up to 10Gig dedicated connections for businesses. TDS’ expansion to Tomah also brings a new competitor for both TV and phone service to the community.
“Once you have a fiber connection, you realize the difference it makes when you’re online,” said Andrew Petersen, senior vice president of Corporate Affairs at TDS. “Fiber-optics bring a smooth, fast, and reliable internet experience that benefits individuals, businesses and, ultimately, the entire community.”
TDS connected the first customers in Sparta last week and continues to roll out its fiber networks to customers in Onalaska, West Salem, and Rockland, Wisconsin. TDS’ networks light up network neighborhood by neighborhood as construction is completed.
In addition to bringing super-fast internet, both residential and businesses in the build footprint can choose service bundles that include TDS TV®+, the company’s sophisticated, digital TV service. TDS TV+ integrates with popular streaming services and has industry-leading features including show start-over and a cloud DVR. Phone service, including TDS’ business VoIP solution called managedIP, is also available.
Included in the company’s product lineup is a low-cost option for Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) participants. Called TDS Connect, the service includes 200Mbps/200Mbps speeds and at a price that is fully covered by the monthly ACP benefit.
TDS has reported investing nearly a billion dollars to expand its fiber network footprint across Wisconsin. TDS has been operating in Wisconsin for more than 50 years and now serves 32 states.
