TDS surprises veterans advocate with Hometown Hero Award
TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) surprised a longtime advocate for the veterans community with a Hometown Hero Award during an Idaho Veterans Chamber of Commerce event.
10-year Air Force member Lucas O’Neill was nominated after his tireless efforts raising money for veterans’ organizations and work on veterans housing. O’Neill, a board member with the Idaho Veterans Chamber of Commerce, was honored at a ribbon cutting celebrating the organization’s new Treasure Valley office location at the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Nampa Accelerator.
“The TDS Hometown Hero Award honors the unsung heroes who are making a difference in our community. After serving our country for years in the military, Lucas has devoted himself to making sure veterans are shown the respect they deserve. We are proud to recognize Lucas with a Hometown Hero Award and express our gratitude for all who have served,” said Jessi Shockley, TDS associate manager of field marketing in Meridian.
Also as part of Monday’s presentation, TDS made a $1,000 donation to the Idaho Veterans Chamber of Commerce.
