TDS powers up first Whitewater customers

WHITEWATER, Wisconsin (August 31, 2023) – TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) has reached a milestone in its Whitewater construction project, connecting the first customers to its lightning-fast, all-fiber internet network.

“We are excited to grow our presence in Whitewater and begin providing world-class internet, TV, and phone service to our first customers. While much work remains, we’re proud of the progress we’ve made so far and look forward to extending service to more areas of the community,” said Drew Petersen, TDS Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs.

The first installation was made at a home on Walworth Avenue. Connections are made neighborhood by neighborhood as work is completed. By the end of construction, the company expects about 4,400 homes and businesses – several hundred more than earlier estimates – will have access to TDS services. The network features speeds up to 8Gig – some of the fastest internet speeds in the nation.

TDS and its subsidiary TDS Metrocom LLC is also a participant in the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP). Qualified ACP customers can receive symmetrical speeds up to 200Mbps at no cost with the company’s TDS Connect product.

Beyond Whitewater, Madison-based TDS is building networks in Jefferson, Fort Atkinson, Watertown, and other communities throughout the state.
