TDS celebrates grand opening of new TDS Lounge in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho

Located in Silver Lake Mall, TDS Lounge offers unique space for individuals and groups to meet

Coeur d’Alene, Idaho – TDS Telecommunications, Silver Lake Mall, and Hayden Chamber of Commerce members celebrated the opening of a new community gathering space, the TDS Lounge, at a ribbon-cutting Wednesday, Sept. 8.

The TDS Lounge is centrally located in the mall and provides a unique space for individuals and groups to meet. TDS provides free 1Gig internet and TDS TV+® playing on big screen televisions. The lounge also features overstuffed couches and chairs – perfect for relaxing while checking email or catching a Seahawks game.

Located between locally-owned businesses Bear Paw Cookies and Macadamia Coffee Co., the TDS Lounge is open during the mall’s operating hours, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Silver Lake Mall, the largest enclosed shopping center in Northern Idaho, is located at 200 W. Hanley Ave., Coeur d’Alene.

Melissa Schock, associate general manager of Silver Lake Mall and president of the Hayden Chamber of Commerce, got the idea for an internet business café after noticing that some mall patrons needed a place to plug in their laptops to get work done or sit and relax while friends or family members shopped.

She shared her vision with Anita Parisot, TDS associate manager of field marketing and vice president of the Hayden Chamber of Commerce, and planning for the TDS Lounge began. TDS has previously hosted events at the Silver Lake Mall kiosk during the mall’s Community Market and other events.

“Whether you want to watch Gonzaga or NFL games, hold an event with your organization, or simply relax while visiting the mall, the TDS Lounge is the ideal spot,” said Julie Maiers, TDS Vice President of Marketing and Product Development. “We’re excited to collaborate with Melissa and the Silver Lake Mall on the TDS Lounge. We hope that all will enjoy this new community space.”
