TDS fiber network project fully launched in Blue Ridge, Georgia
Build is now complete with residents and businesses gaining up to 1Gig data connections
TDS Telecommunications’ LLC (TDS®) all-fiber network build in Blue Ridge, Georgia is now complete and super-fast internet is available to all addresses included in the project footprint. The company’s fiber expansion delivers symmetrical internet speeds of up to 1Gig to more than 1,700 homes and businesses, with up to 10Gig dedicated connections available for commercial customers.
“Fiber technology is in demand because it brings fast, reliable connections and it’s scalable for the future,” says Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs, Drew Petersen. “We’re proud to have made this investment in Blue Ridge and excited customers can enjoy the faster speeds.”
TDS launched services to the first customers late last year, gradually expanding availability as sections of the network were completed. With build work now finished, TDS and its contractors will finalize any remaining restoration work.
TDS’ fiber technology delivers a range of internet speeds of up to 1Gig for residents and businesses. All TDS’ internet services are symmetrical, with equal download and upload speeds. The fiber build also means commercial customers have access to dedicated connections up to 10Gig that include a service level agreement.
In addition to the company’s standard offerings, the completion of the project brings added benefits for Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) participants. TDS offers an internet product called TDS Connect at a price that is fully covered by the monthly ACP benefit and, over fiber, it includes symmetrical speeds up to 200Mbps.
“We’re pleased our TDS Connect product is helping to close the digital divide by offering a fast, quality internet service to those leveraging the ACP program,” says Petersen. “We hope residents check to see whether they qualify.”
