TDS connects first customers in Sheboygan County
SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, Wisconsin (August 8, 2023) – TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) continues to make progress on its all-fiber, high-speed internet network in Sheboygan County. The first customers are now connected in Sheboygan and Plymouth, while construction is also ongoing in Sheboygan Falls and Kohler.
The TDS network is bringing internet speeds up to 8Gig – fast enough to download or upload a file of any size nearly instantly – along with TV service and phone options to more than 25,000 homes and businesses in Sheboygan County.
Service is launched neighborhood by neighborhood as construction is completed. On Wednesday, crews connected Kerri Wilson of Plymouth, a small business owner who became the first TDS customer in that community.
“After beginning construction last fall, we’re excited to begin providing residents and businesses with the fast, reliable internet connections that are so crucial for school, work, and many other tasks,” said Drew Petersen, Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs. “We greatly appreciate the community’s patience during construction and look forward to connecting more addresses to world-class services.”
In upcoming build areas, residents will be notified in several ways before construction starts, including signage and by postcard, letter, and door hanger.
While work continues, TDS has already been active in the community through a variety of partnerships, including with Uptown Social, Boys and Girls Clubs of Sheboygan County, United Way, and the Community Dinner at Nourish Farms.
“Helping the communities we serve is a core part of TDS’ mission. We’re grateful to begin working with several amazing local organizations and do our part to make Sheboygan County a great place to live and work,” said Kelsey Lueptow, TDS associate manager of field marketing.
Residents can visit TDSFiber.com to register for service, monitor the progress of the build, and sign up for notifications about the new service.
