TDS Telecom associates donate $35K to local nonprofits
Madison, Wisconsin – On Giving Tuesday, TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) is proud to announce $35,000 in donations to three Madison-based organizations during the company’s Week of Giving campaign. To share the holiday spirit, TDS Telecom asked its associates and associate resource groups to recommend deserving nonprofits and associates then made the final selection in a companywide vote.
The National Alliance on Mental Illness-Wisconsin (NAMI) won the most votes and will receive a $15,000 donation. TDS associates also voted to provide donations to Badger Honor Flight ($12,000) and the Autism Society of South Central Wisconsin ($8,000).
“We have some pretty incredible associates who really care about the communities we serve,” said TDS Telecom President and CEO Jim Butman. “It’s great that we can give back to these wonderful organizations that do so much for our friends and neighbors.”
Members of the media were invited to attend the check presentations at TDS Headquarters at 525 Junction Road, Madison.
The National Alliance on Mental Illness is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by mental illness. NAMI works to ensure no individual or family is alone on their mental-health journey.
Badger Honor Flight, a regional affiliate of the national Honor Flight Network, works to take World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War, and terminally ill veterans from any war on trips to see the memorials that have been erected in their honor in our nation’s capital.
The Autism Society of South Central Wisconsin works to create connections and empowers everyone in the autism community with the resources needed to live fully.
Helping the communities where TDS offers services is an important part of the company’s mission. In addition to the annual charity vote, TDS also provides associates with 16 hours of paid time off every year to volunteer at the 501(c)(3) organization of their choice through its Be Good Citizens program.
