Rockland, Wis. named a TDS Fiber-Fast Community and receives donation to celebrate end of build

Construction in Bangor also complete

TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) celebrated the completion of its all-fiber network build in Rockland with an official TDS Fiber-Fast Community designation. Company representatives presented the official award and certificate to village of Rockland board members on May 14 along with donation of $1,500.

“Finishing an infrastructure project like this takes the support of both the community and its leaders; we want to thank them both for their cooperation,” said TDS Associate Manager of Field Marketing Alex Wegner. “We’re proud to be here and serve the community with our products as well as through our community partnership.”

The Fiber-Fast Community designation marks the completion of TDS’ fiber network build. The Madison-based company announced the project in fall of 2022 and launched the super-fast internet service of up to 8 Gig to customer in November of last year. With construction completed, more than 1,000 addresses in both Rockland and Bangor have access to the super-fast connections along with other TDS services including TV and phone.

To celebrate the end of construction and full access to the all-fiber network, TDS gave $1,500 to help fund the return of Rockland Days. The village was looking for support to relaunch the community festival which hadn’t been held since before the pandemic. With the help of TDS’ donation, the event will return on June 22 with the scheduled fireworks also serving as the community’s Independence Day celebration.

Thanks to TDS’ network expansion, in addition to the 8 Gig symmetrical internet available for all customers, businesses can choose 10 Gig dedicated connections.
