Apply today–$2,000 scholarships are available for Minnesota high school seniors

Scholarships to be awarded by Minnesota Telecom Alliance Foundation and TDS.

If you know a Minnesota high school senior, encourage him or her to apply for a Minnesota Telecom Alliance Foundation (MTA) scholarship. TDS Telecom (TDS®), incumbent telephone companies, and cooperatives across Minnesota are teaming up to help the MTA offer a handful of $2,000 scholarships.

Applications for the one-time scholarships are available at the MTA web site. To be eligible, applications must be postmarked by Feb. 23, 2018 and applicants must:

  • Be accepted and attend a post-secondary university, college or technical college starting in the fall of 2018;
  • Be a Minnesota resident, and
  • Have an immediate family member who subscribes to at least one service from TDS Telecom (phone, internet and/or TDS TV).

This spring, a panel of MTA Foundation members will review the applications and select finalists based on grades, academic achievements, and extra-curricular activities. Preference will be given to students with an interest in telecommunications technology and rural communities.

“We’re proud to support access to higher education for Minnesota high school seniors through this scholarship,” says Jean Pauk, State Government Affairs manager at TDS. “Helping ease the financial burden of college for the young people in the communities we serve is a great feeling.”

The Foundation is part of the Minnesota Telecom Alliance, a trade association representing more than 44 telecommunications providers in the state, including TDS.

TDS Telecom applicants should forward their application to Jean Pauk c/o TDS Telecom, 525 Junction Rd, Madison, WI 53717 by February 23, 2018.
