Construction begins on TDS fiber network in Bruceton, Tennessee
Residents and businesses to gain up to 1Gig super high-speed data connections
TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) has started construction on a fiber-optic network upgrade in Bruceton, Tennessee. The project will deliver up to 1Gig internet speeds for homes, and up to 10Gig dedicated business connections, along with phone services. The all-fiber network will ultimately connect approximately 2,500 locations across the community.
“Fiber-optic technology is in demand because it delivers reliable, super-fast internet,” says Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs Drew Petersen. “These high-quality connections are what residents want for work at home opportunities, virtual school and meetings, online health care, and simply enjoying the wide variety of entertainment options available.”
The network build activity involves burying conduit and fiber cable in public utility easement areas and hanging cable on utility poles. Services will launch to customers in phases as sections of the network are completed. The company expects installations to begin next spring with the project wrapping up in late fall 2023.
Addresses included in the TDS build area will gain a range of super-fast internet options up to 1Gig. All speeds come with symmetrical upload and download speed. Phone service will also be available. Beyond 1Gig, businesses can gain dedicated connections up to 10Gig, as well as phone service including managedIP, a hosted Voice over IP (VoIP) solution.
TDS has been serving customers in Bruceton for 42 years. Residents can visit TDSFiber.com or call 1-888-225-5837 for more information about the new internet speeds.
