TDS bringing fiber internet to Butte-Silver Bow, Montana

TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) will be delivering a new all-fiber network to Butte-Silver Bow, Montana, the sixth community TDS is launching in Montana.

Starting later this year, TDS will begin construction of a fiber network that will connect more than 15,000 homes and businesses. The network will provide some of the fastest internet speeds in the country and brings a highly competitive choice for broadband services to Butte-Silver Bow.

When construction is completed, the fiber network will deliver symmetrical internet speeds up to 2Gig (2000 Mbps), TDS’ all-digital TV service, TDS TV®+, and a variety of phone options for residential and business customers.

“We are delighted to announce we are expanding our reliable fiber network into another vibrant city in Montana,” says Andrew Petersen, TDS Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs. “Fiber networks are in high demand, and we are excited to bring our dependable and durable technology to Butte-Silver Bow. Our robust fiber network will provide residents the latest tools to upgrade their home for the future.”

The Madison, Wisconsin-based company is currently building a fiber network in Billings, Montana. In August 2021, TDS announced the construction of a fiber-to-the-home network, which will ultimately connect more than 50,000 homes and businesses across Billings. TDS is also building a fiber network in Helena, Missoula, and Great Falls. With speeds up to 2Gig, it’s possible to download a typical two-hour, 4K movie in under a minute.

TDS' expansion into Butte-Silver Bow will create new job opportunities, with new positions now posted on the company’s website at tdstelecom.com/careers
