BendBroadband donates to United Way of Central Oregon
BEND, Oregon – As part of its ongoing efforts to support local nonprofits making a difference, BendBroadband has donated $7,000 to the United Way of Central Oregon.
The donation was made through the United Way of Central Oregon’s Corporate Cornerstone Program, which helps the organization create a greater impact in fighting for health, education, financial stability, and resilience in Central Oregon.
“United Way of Central Oregon is so grateful for TDS/BendBroadband’s continued support as a Corporate Cornerstone Partner. Cornerstone contributions amplify the impact of individual and employee donations. Because of their support, one in four people in our Central Oregon community is touched by a United Way funded program or service every year,” said Ken Wilhelm, United Way of Central Oregon Executive Director.
Helping the communities it serves is an important part of the mission of BendBroadband and its parent company, TDS. BendBroadband associates have pledged individual donations to United Way for the last several years; in addition, associates are provided with 16 hours of paid time off every year to volunteer at the 501(c)(3) organization of their choice through the company’s Be Good Citizens program.
“After the hardships that so many have faced these past two years, the United Way of Central Oregon’s mission is as important now as it’s ever been. We’re proud to help the United Way continue to make a difference in the community,” said Andrew Petersen, TDS Telecom Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs.
United Way of Central Oregon (UWCO) is working toward equitable access to resources for all Central Oregonians. Each year, UWCO funds local nonprofits that focus on health, education, financial stability, basic needs, and building resilience. UWCO is working to ensure all community members are cared for by directing efforts and resources to where they will have the greatest impact, especially for individuals identified as being part of our community’s most vulnerable and marginalized groups.
