1Gig internet arrives in DeForest, Windsor, and McFarland, Wisconsin

The new TDS Fiber service is available to the first customers in three communities

TDS Telecom’s (TDS®) all-fiber network is now available to the first residential and business customers in DeForest, Windsor and McFarland. TDS Fiber, which delivers up to 1 gigabit (1Gig) internet speeds along with TV and phone, is expected to roll out in phases to thousands more customers in these communities by the end of the year. When the builds are complete, more than 7,100 Deforest and Windsor addresses will have access to the fiber-optic network, and the McFarland project will reach approximately 5,500.

“We know residents and area businesses have been anxiously awaiting these super-fast internet speeds,” says Julie Maiers, vice president of Consumer Marketing at TDS. “Fiber-optic networks offer the bandwidth residents want and need to power all of today’s connected technology.”

In addition to up to 1Gig internet, the launch of TDS Fiber brings a new TV service choice to these communities. TDS TV®, TDS’ all-digital TV service, offers industry-leading features and includes a Connected-Home DVR, which links all TVs together in a home giving full DVR functionality and programming access to each set-top box.

Businesses within the TDS Fiber footprint can order internet access and transport connections up to 10Gig via dedicated fiber, TDS managedIP (a hosted VoIP communications solution), and TDS TV.

Registered customers in the launch areas will be contacted to schedule their installations.

TDS first announced plans to expand to DeForest, Windsor, and McFarland last spring. Residents can visit TDSFiber.com to see if their address is included in the fiber build and sign up for notifications about the new service.
