To configure Outlook 2007 to work with TDS Mail, follow these directions:

  1. Open Outlook.
  2. Click the Tools menu, and select Account Settings...
  3. On the E-mail tab, highlight your existing TDS Email account and select Remove. If you use Outlook to check more than one TDS address, only remove your TDS Email account.
  4. Click New...
  5. If you are prompted to Choose E-mail Service, select Internet E-mail , POP, IMAP, or HTTP, and click Next.
  6. Fill in all necessary fields to include the following information:
    • Your Name: Your name as you would like it to appear in the "From:" field of outgoing messages.
    • Email Address: Your complete TDS Email address.
    • Password: Your TDS Email password.
  7. Click Next.
  8. Click Finish.

To manually set up Outlook 2007 to work with TDS Mail (IMAP), follow these directions:

  1. Open Outlook.
  2. Click the Tools menu, and select Account Settings...
  3. On the E-mail tab, highlight your existing TDS Email account and select Remove. Caution: If you use Outlook to check more than one email address, remove only your TDS Email account.
  4. Click New...
  5. If you are prompted to Choose E-mail Service, select Internet E-mail , POP, IMAP, or HTTP, and click Next.
  6. Fill in all necessary fields to include the following information:
    • Your Name: The name you would like to appear in the "From:" field of outgoing messages.
    • Email Address: Your complete TDS Email address.
    • Password: Customer's password.
    • Manually configure server settings or additional server types: Place a checkmark here.
  7. Click Next.
  8. Select Internet E-mail and click Next
  9. Fill in all necessary fields to include the following information:
    • Server Information:
      • Account Type: IMAP
      • Incoming mail server: mail.tds.net Business customers with domains hosted by TDS simply enter the server names provided, do not add the domain name in this step.
      • Outgoing mail server (IMAP): mail.tds.net
    • Logon Information:
      • User Name: Your complete TDS Email address.
      • Password: Your TDS Email password.
      • Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA): Leave this unchecked.
  10. Click the More Settings... button, and select the Outgoing Server tab.
  11. Check the box next to My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication and select Use same settings as my incoming mail server.
  12. Click the Advanced tab, and check the box next to This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL) under Incoming Server (IMAP).
  13. In the Outgoing server (SMTP) box, enter 587
  14. For Use the following type of encrypted connection, select TLS.
  15. Click OK.
  16. Click Test Account Settings...
  17. After receiving 'Congratulations! All tests completed successfully', click Close.
  18. Click Next, and then click Finish.

To manually set up Outlook 2007 to work with TDS Mail (POP), follow these directions:

  1. Open Outlook.
  2. Click the Tools menu, and select Account Settings...
  3. On the E-mail tab, highlight your existing TDS Email account and select Remove. Caution: If you use Outlook to check more than one email address, remove only your TDS Email address.
  4. Click New...
  5. If you are prompted to Choose E-mail Service, select Internet E-mail , POP, IMAP, or HTTP, and click Next.
  6. Fill in all necessary fields to include the following information:
    • Your Name: The name you would like it to appear in the "From:" field of outgoing messages.
    • Email Address: Your complete TDS Email address.

  7. Click Next.
  8. Select Internet E-mail and click Next.

      • Outgoing mail server (SMTP): mail.tds.net

      • User Name: Your complete TDS Email address.
      • Password: Your TDS Email password.

  10. Click the More Settings... button, and select the Outgoing Server tab.

  4. Update the following information:
    • Server Information:
      • Incoming mail server: mail.tds.net
      • Outgoing mail server (IMAP/POP): mail.tds.net
  5. Click the More Settings... button, and select the Outgoing Server tab.
  6. In the Outgoing server (SMTP) box, enter 587
  7. Click OK.
  8. Click Next, and then click Finish.
